RX 5600M vs RTX 2060 – 20 Game Laptop Comparison!

Which graphics should you get in your laptop, AMD’s Radeon RX 5600M or Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2060? I’ve tested 20 different games at all setting levels to show you the performance differences between the 5600M and 2060 to help you decide which to get in your next gaming laptop.

In addition to gaming benchmarks, we’ll also look at Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere/Photoshop, temperatures and power draw differences.

Testing was done with the Dell G5 15 SE vs ASUS TUF A15 (FA506IV). As the TUF A15 overclocks the GPU by default, I disabled that for a fair comparison, so we’re looking at stock results here.

  • I've compared the 5600M with the 1660 Ti here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raAKFyKMR8A

  • Currently I like AMD CPU with nVidia GPU but it could change next year given how competitive the market is becoming. Intel is still doing it's worst trying to catch up while I feel RDNA2 is being overhyped but then again, AMD has been delivering, sometimes beyond expectations so I can see where the hype is coming from.

  • I don't know why the hell the new GPU for the MacBook Pro shares name with this one while being widely different and insanely expensive, it doesn't make sense from a marketing standpoint either

  • Dell G5 SE orTUF 15 which one should I buy? I am a developer + light gamer who needs to attach two monitors one 1440P@144Hz and another 1080P@60Hz . I have previously used Dell laptops they seem good to me get hot but are durable. I need a durable product which one is more durable?

  • @Jarrod''sTech did the 5600M in the G5 automatically work? I start games and its only using the integrated chip..

  • That 12 Gbps memory bandwidth of the RX5600M is really hurting it at higher settings. If only each laptop maker releases BIOS upgrade to make the RX5600M operate at 14Gbps, performance might change for the good. Don't know why did they even bottle necked that GPU to operate at 12Gbps in the first place.

  • As info too for anyone who may wonder, this is not the same 5600m in the new 16” MacBook, not even close. I know you didn’t say that at all but just wanted to make sure people who are researching understand they are not the same. The one in the new MacBook is an Apple only product currently and is a beast with HBm2 memory and 40 Cuda cores. That 5600m pro will run overwatch at 1440p high settings at +200 FPS.

  • The 5600M is an $800 upgrade on the 16” MacBook Pro and the Sheeple are giddy as school girls over it. 😆

  • Man those 1% lows are really awful for 5600m in most of the games. I don't think going with it is a great idea unless you get a hefty discount compared to RTX2060 laptops.

  • One glance and I knew that at high settings the RX5600M will struggle because the clock is lower

  • AMD throwing the towel with Radeon…

Barely the only laptop right now with Radeon GPU but cant stand with the RTX 2060… so the 5700M should be on part with this (giving that fact that they are not using XT perfomance-level)… so another dissapointing product.
Ryzen offers the best perfomance price ratio but cant speak the same with Radeon…

  • Just a quick question, how much more powerful is the 90w rtx 2070 max q variant than the regular rtx 2060 for laptops?

  • So annoying I JUST bought the 5500m days before this came out. Would've chosen the 5600m easily if it was an option at the time.

  • 2060 has RT and Tensor cores. That alone makes it better than 5600M.
