  • This is an excellent video, however I do not have the little 'G' icon on my google drive, so not too sure what to press to follow your instructions. I am not very tech savvy being a pensioner, but I was very annoyed when after trying twice to download a set of files from the drive it decided to let me have only a few of them, Can you help me at all, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Edit: I'm REALLY not tryna wait weeks, if I wanted to do that I could just download them single handedly which will probably take up less time

  • I was sent a link with a lot of photos that I have to download. I selected all photos, then download. it seemed to zip the files, but when it is done, it kinda just disappears. I have no idea where the zipped file went to. any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

  • I have many pictures on my G drive that I need to download. These pictures have been shared with me and out of all the pics I need to download about half. And upload/transfer them to Apple's Photo Application. I ave been going through each of them and selecting "download" on the ones I want. Is there a simpler way to do this? I watched your tutorial but I do not want to transfer all, just some. Thanks.

  • it appears that you must create an archive to download photos. to archive, google compresses the photos. I don't want the photos compressed. is there a way do do this without the compression?

  • I just tried to do it, but I have 9G of pictures on my Google Drive and it is not howinf the download bar, just says "An archive of your Drive data is currently being prepared
Please note that archives may take a long time (hours or possibly days) to create. You will receive an email when your archive is complete." Should I just close everything and wait to receive the full archive by email or do I have to leave it open? Is it working? Thanks

Pancake Society June 16, 2020 6:48 am Reply
  • Google seems to have change the "myaccount" page so this guide doesn't really work. But they did seem to simplify things by making a simple URL for the "download your data" page. If you just go to takeout.google.com it will take you directly to that page.
